Govt. Hi-tech Dairy Farm and Farm Tourism Centre is spread across 106 acres of land on the banks of Kallada river about 5 KM. from Punalur Town in Kollam District.

Govt. Hi-tech Dairy Farm, Kuriyottumala, one of the largest livestock farms of Animal Husbandry Department, Kerala, was started as a dry stock farm in 1962. Dry cows and heifers of farmers were received in the farm and returned after conception. Buffalo rearing started in July 1982 and farm was renamed to Buffalo Breeding farm. Later on dairy cattle, goat and rabbit rearing were introduced. In 2017 farm was coverted to Hi-techDairy Farm.

Currently the farm houses nearly, 600 heads ofcross breed cattle, a few native dwarf/cattle, various breeds of goat & rabbit, ostrich, emus and horse. Under the guidance of Kollam Jilla Panchayath the fram is exploring the possibility of tourism.


  • Production and marketing of farm fresh milk and milk products.
  • Breeding and distribution of good quality cattle, goats and rabbits.
  • Production and distribution of good quality fodder crops.
  • Provide training and guidance to farmers,students and other stake holders.
  • To act as a center of learning and recreation through farm tourism.
